Crime
Our barristers appear in all types of criminal Courts in the Country from the Magistrates’ Court to the Supreme Court (formerly the House of Lords). The cases in which members of the group are instructed regularly feature in the law reports and in the press.
Our Crown Court and Court of Appeal work is predominantly in the field of defence. Our members have received instructions in caseload includes cases of murder, manslaughter, terrorism, serious sexual offences, fraud, gangland crime, large-scale drug conspiracies and matters under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
We also have an extremely busy Magistrates’ Court practice, which encompasses offences in all areas of practice.
We gladly accept instructions in both publicly funded and privately funded cases. The majority members are Direct Access trained. We may therefore be instructed directly by members of the public in appropriate cases without the need for the instruction of a solicitor as well, or direct instruction from another professional.
We are committed to the continuing development of our members’ practices and necessary skills. We have a wealth of experience across criminal practice and are always happy to provide Counsel in any criminal matters, no matter the level of criminality involved.
Our Criminal Practice includes:
Fraud, Business and Financial Crime
Homicide (Murder and Manslaughter)
International Crime
Motoring and Road Traffic
Organised Crime and Terrorism
Restraint and Confiscation
Serious Sexual Offences
