Lee read for an LLB in Law at Durham University, graduating in 2005, before studying for a Masters Degree in Commercial Law at Northumbria University, which he completed in 2006. He was Called to the Bar in 2007. In 2009 Lee was admitted as a solicitor after completing the Qualified Lawyers Transfer and spent 11 years in practice, including as a partner within a London practice and at a boutique City law firm. In November 2020, Lee transferred to full time practice at the Bar.
As well as Court representation and advocacy, Lee provides pragmatic and commercially sound specialist legal advice, consultation and assistance to both businesses and individuals in civil and commercial matters as well as on a range of additional contentious and non-contentious legal areas.

Children
Over the years Lee has built up significant and wide-ranging family law practice. Lee accepts instructions in both private and public child law cases. He has built experience and frequently has conduct of contested one day and multi-day matters in both the County Court and Family Proceedings Court.
His public law work has encompassed representation of the Local Authority and Children’s Guardians as well as representation of Respondent parents and intervenors, including cases involving non-accidental injury and chronic neglect.
In private law, Lee has acted for parents in contested contact and residence applications, including emergency and ex parte applications as to prohibited steps orders and child arrangement orders. His work has included matters with international elements regarding removal from the jurisdiction of England and Wales to non-Hague Convention States.

K v K [2020] EWFC 96 (Mr Justice Mostyn)
Lee appeared for the Respondent Mother, successfully opposing the Father's application for the continuation of an ex parte Prohibited Steps Order seeking to prevent the Mother from removing the children from the jurisdiction to a non-Hague Convention country during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fertility & Surrogacy Law
Lee has a practice in surrogacy law with emphasis on advisory work involving intended parents and surrogates alike as well as having provided legal guidance to fertility clinics. He also accepts instructions for Court representation, including parental order applications.
Civil Litigation and Personal Injury
Lee is able to provide a wide range of expert legal advice and assistance to his clients. He has a proven track record of success, particular expertise and experience in civil and commercial disputes and litigation and his work has encompassed cases before the Court of Appeal, the High Court as well as the County Courts together with various Tribunals across several areas of law.
Lee has a strong and longstanding practice in civil litigation ranging from interim applications to complex multi-track level cases. His general civil litigation work includes debt recovery, contract and tort cases. As well as road traffic personal injury, Lee has acted in employer and occupier liability claims as well as both portal and non-portal RTA injuries. He regularly advises on quantum, deals with infant settlement matters and stage 3 hearings, including personal injury and credit hire issues. Lee also has experience in complex injury cases and high value matters.

Orchard Investment Properties Ltd v Violante [2013] EWHC 2558 (Ch)
Lee acted for the successful Respondent. The case has been a leading authority in establishing the Court’s jurisdiction and discretion to grant security for costs beyond standard CPR Part 25 procedures. The case continues to feature in the White Book (25.13.13) as a leading authority on this point.
Employment
Lee’s employment work has mainly encompassed a strong advisory practice, particularly in settlement (compromise) agreements.
Business and Property
With an academic background in commercial law, this lends itself to Lee’s practice in this area and he regularly appears in the Business and Property Courts on a range of business and property matters.
Lee has broad experience in a range of property disputes and litigation, and including both residential and commercial landlord and tenant, mortgage litigation, TOLATA, and boundary disputes. His residential and commercial landlord and tenant practice is well honed and he has acted in a variety of possession and forfeiture cases ranging from local authority, anti-social behaviour matters and general evictions to cases involving high net worth and high profile individuals. His work has comprised injunctions, evictions and stay applications. Lee offers his clients pragmatic and astute advice in this area.
Company and Commercial
Lee’s practice includes extensive expertise in company law and corporate work, particularly in limited company Court Order restoration applications as well as shareholder disputes, upon which he also advises clients extensively.
Crime
Lee acts for clients in motoring and road traffic offences criminal matters.
